HYDRO-X FOR STEAMING PLANTS WITH OPERATING PRE-TREATMENT PLANTS

Effective improvement

Even if steam plants with the most perfect ion exchange plant, the Hydro-X method will result in a considerable, effective improvement. Most often the profitability will be greater than the cost of Hydro-X.

The problems are solvable

In spite of ion exchange plants, consequential losses, costs in connection with breakdowns and maintenance, are considered to be inevitable and as such accepted. Not least in highly technical plants in which the solution of the problems is sought by external treatment plants. However, scale formation, electro-chemical corrosion, priming and other problems are still prevalent, and periodic boiler stoppages and inspections, cleaning of economizer, replacement of corroded parts are still necessary when Hydro-X is not applied.

In all plants-also plants in operation

The advantages of the Hydro-X process may be utilized in connection with any type of water treatment plant, calcium/soda, cation exchanger, reverse osmosis plant and so on. Whatever construction principles in the water treatment and deaerator plants, the perfect plant which makes the use of Hydro-X superfluosus has so far not been invented.

 

Fluctuating and maximum operation

Problems are most widespread in plants with large and sudden changes in the steam consumption and in plants with a high capacity utilization. In both types of plants the characteristic features of the Hydro-X process will be fully developed.

Constant effect with changing water quality

As mentioned, Hydro-X has a physical rather than chemical effect. Consequently, the method is constantly effective , irrespective of very large changes in feed water quality. In existing water treatment plants, Hydro-X therefore, upholds the necessary function which is comparable to that of shock absorbers in an otherwise perfectly sprung car. The demand for a wide safety margin is met - without unintended side - effects and new fields of risk.

Constant safety with changing load

When a water treatment plant works inconsistently, increased formation of boiler scale, corrosion and steam pollution may occur. This makes the Hydro-X process particularly important. One dose will immediately adsorb all impurities passing from the pre-treatment plant, condensate return and to boiler, economizer, superheater and condensate lines. The plant is thereby allowed to operate constantly with maximum capacity. The daily maintenance is, at the same time, reduced to a minimum.

 

HYDRO-X DOSING HAS A LARGE SAFETY MARGIN

Minimum dosing

Only a small quantity of Hydro-X is needed in feed water treatment. The minimum dosing is fixed in accordance with the purpose of the treatment i.e. to achieve a complete adsorption and deposition of impurities in the water.

Treated water

Even when treated water is used, some impurities may enter the system. If this happens even small doses of Hydro-X can adsorb these providing an effective back up for plant failure.

 

Increasing hardness

Consequently, the minimum dosing is fully effective even when the hardness of water increases. Variations in water quality from source to source or from season to season most often have no practical significance for the effect of Hydro-X. Only in a minority of places are the limits for hardness exceeded which make a larger dosing of Hydro-X or a supplement to the treatment necessary.

Always maximal safety margin

Overdosing with Hydro-X is without risks, both when the overdose is an error - manual or technical - and when it occurs with the purpose of speeding up the breaking - down of boiler scale. Overdosing does not damage the boiler - and the steam quality remains pure.
